Dr. Elton L. Lewis is a professional educator with more than 18 years of experience, who makes a point of breaking each and every stereotype imaginable, while knowing and accepting the challenge of being a positive male role model for the students under his tutelage.

Elton came from very humble beginnings. The son of Cynthia C. Bain and Edward Lewis born January 1, 1979, he was raised by his grandparents, Leo and Bessie Saunders, who very early on instilled in him a “spirit of excellence.” Elton earned top honors from Shadowlawn Elementary School, Horace Mann Middle School, and graduating top 2% of his class at Miami Central Senior High in 1997.

Taking advantage of his full academic Presidential Scholarship at Florida State University, Elton graduated with his well-earned bachelor degrees in Information Studies and Sports Medicine/Kinesiology. He would soon after graduate with a masters degree and doctoral degree in Sports Medicine/Kinesiology from Florida International University (FIU) in 2004 and 2007 respectively.

He was then anointed, consecrated, installed and took his rightful place at the apex of all Capitular Masonry within the Jurisdiction.

Elton is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity, Inc., NAACP, and several other organizations, however nothing brings him more joy them simply being called “teacher” by the students he has instructed over the years. For this gives him the most satisfaction and self-assuredness that he has truly been a good steward of all that the Lord has placed in his hands. He will often tell you to just call him “Elton” and skip all the fancy titles. He remains modest through all of his many accolades and accomplishments, never forgetting his humble beginnings and that “spirit of excellence” he learned as a child. He continues to live by a motto he instills in each and every student he instructs, “Excellence is key to any successful life.”
